Introduction

In December of '06 the Network for Developers became accessible to the vast developer audiences innovating with location awareness in the solutions being developed. This month the first developer centric newsletter begins monthly distribution, alerting you to new articles, content, products and opportunities coming from The Network. Coming soon are the technical webinars, new technical documentation and additional business opportunities. These resources will drive your understanding as to how to use our map and access channels to market for your creations. Lastl?, we do like to hear from the developer community using our map, so please use the forum or give us input via the feedback link.

Regards,
Marc Naddell, V.P. Partner and Developer Program

NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge

Since 2003, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge has been paving the way for the development and emergence of innovative location-aware, by providing a unique forum for "sellers" in the LBS value chain to gain visibility with potential key "buyers". To date, 6 previous LBS Challenge participants have received venture capital funding and 8 past LBS Challenge winners have launched commercial applications on major wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel. The 2007 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge will host its awards ceremony on March 28th at CTIA Wireless in Orlando, Florida. Over 200 companies in the Americas registered in this year?s Challenge. Companies compete in four categories enabling developers to submit applications into and compete at both a category level and grand-prize level.
