NAVTEQ Map Reporter's API Overview

NAVTEQ Map Reporter's APIs is a technical interface to the NAVTEQ map reporting system, offering a SOAP interface to submit and query the status of map reports directly with NAVTEQ.

This integration channel is intended for a technical audience interested in alternative integration capabilities not available with NAVTEQ‘s pre-built components.

What do I need to get started?

Upon registration, you will receive access to detailed interface specification for the available services. You will also receive an application key required to authorize your interaction with the API. Please note, that you will need to provide a site ID representing the origin application or server, e.g. www.example.com.

What happens to my submitted map reports?

The intention of providing developer access to Map Reporter’s APIs is to enable developers to build a map feedback channel into the application or device that directly integrates with NAVTEQ’s map feedback system.

While developing your application, the feedback will be sent to a test system. Once the integration is tested and ready to use for production, no additional technical changes will be required because the interface is consistent with our production-data API. In this case, you can request a new application key for authentication that will authorize your application to submit production data. Please contact us for further information.

The processing of production map feedback will be handled by our backend systems or production/field personnel. Depending on the quality and accuracy of the data, some feedback will be used for maintenance planning, meaning the reported map feedback will not be verified by NAVTEQ personnel in the field or central operations team.
