Integration Options
In order to provide users, customers and partners with quick and easy usage and integration of map feedback capabilities, four channels are available to support the submission of map feedback.
MapReporter.com
MapReporter.com is the NAVTEQ-branded, web-based consumer feedback tool. It enables NAVTEQ’s partners and consumers to submit map feedback in a fast, easy and efficient way via a map-based interface directly on the NAVTEQ web site.
Consumers submitting reports can check on the status of their submissions by running customized reports using criteria such as:
- Submission Date
- User
- Status
- Country location (registration required)
- Tracking Number (issued for every submission)
Customers and partners can add a link/banner from their website to the NAVTEQ MapReporter.com website, with the possibility of adding information to be prefilled into the form.
Map Reporter’s White-Label Framework
With Map Reporter’s white-label framework, customers can provide input directly to NAVTEQ through a customer-branded web interface. The branded web page will match the design of the current customer site and will include all user controls for full Map Report submission, enabling a seamless user experience and supporting faster resolution.
Various customization options are available, including a customer style sheet (font, coloring), pre-filled input fields, and position/scale of map display. If you are interested in details on the white-label framework, please send an email to mapreporter@navteq.com.
Bulk Submission
Bulk processing is an easy option for customers to collect and submit map feedback. A standardized template allows for efficient collection and processing of reports delivered at one time. Reporting capabilities are available to track the status of bulk submissions. For more information please send an email to mapreporter@navteq.com
NAVTEQ Map Reporter’s API Services
NAVTEQ’s APIs for Map Reporter enables customers to provide device level and third party application integration to submit map feedback directly to the map feedback system. By allowing for transmission of map reports (from the device) at the point of contention, it increases efficiency and provides more timely and accurate validated updates.
This channel enables highly customized map reporting applications to tightly integrate into external web sites, e.g. automotive customers or expert communities as well as non-browser based external applications such as devices integrating NAVTEQ Map Reporter capabilities beyond the predefined functional scope offered by the white-label browser-based framework.
Example use cases include:
- Partners can link proprietary end-user support systems directly to NAVTEQ Map Reporter and submit Map Reports while still on the phone with a customer
- Internet-connected end-user devices can send Map Reports directly, e.g. wirelessly or when docked, through the server of the device supplier
- Web applications requiring additional customization not offered in the white-label components can now do so, e.g. integration with its own user registration/management process, usage of existing or own map display components, etc.
